Designed for hikers and backpackers carrying heavy loads, the TX5 is a mid-cut boot that provides both stability and comfort. The use of the Gore-Tex Extended Comfort membrane ensures the boot will be waterproof and breathable. The uppers are constructed from soft Nubuck leather which are enriched with the an all-round protective rubber and an abrasion resistant rand and toe cap. The high cuff protects against stones and mud. The 3D Flex System gives precision on holds while not restricting the freedom of movement and the underfoot stabilizer makes the shoe capable of handling extended use. The outsole uses Vibram MegaGrip and the Impact Brake System provides enhanced shock absorption on all types of terrain.
